Carports in Accra
Most of what we build is in Accra. The city is where the demand is, and it is where the awkward jobs are — compounds where the driveway is barely wider than the car, walls right up against the parking space, and gates that a delivery truck cannot get through. Those constraints are the reason we survey every site before quoting rather than pricing from a photograph.
The other Accra-specific problem is what the sun does between eleven and three. A car left uncovered on a paved forecourt gets hot enough that the dashboard, the steering wheel and the seats take the damage long before the paintwork does. Shade net solves that for the least money; polycarbonate solves it and keeps the rain off as well.
We are based at Brigade in Nungua, which is inside Greater Accra, so a survey anywhere in the city is a short drive rather than a trip. That is also why we can usually be out within forty-eight hours of an enquiry.

What building in Accra actually involves
The parts of the job that change because the site is in Accra rather than anywhere else.
Tight compounds and narrow driveways
A lot of Accra parking is a strip between a wall and a house. Cantilever designs put the posts on one side only, so the car can be driven straight in without weaving between uprights, and the frame can be set off the wall by the amount you actually need to open a door.
Fabricated off site, assembled on site
The frame is cut, welded and galvanised at our workshop and arrives ready to erect. On a compound with one gate and neighbours either side, that is the difference between a day of work and a week of it.
Harmattan dust
Between December and February everything outdoors gets a film of dust. It is worth knowing that shade net will not stop it — the weave lets fine dust through — while a solid polycarbonate sheet keeps the car noticeably cleaner through that period.
We survey and install right across Accra, including East Legon, Airport Residential, Cantonments, Spintex, Adenta, Madina, Achimota, Dansoman, Tesano and Labone. If your area is not on that list it almost certainly still counts — ask.
Shade net or polycarbonate in Accra?
Both use the same hot-dip galvanised frame. The cover is the decision, and it comes down to whether you need to stop the sun or stop the rain as well.
Shade Net Carports
Tensioned HDPE shade cloth on a hot-dip galvanised steel frame. The fastest, most affordable way to get a car out of the sun.
Polycarbonate Carports
Multiwall or solid polycarbonate sheeting on a steel frame. Full cover from sun and rain, with daylight still coming through.

Carports in Accra: common questions
Not seeing yours? Send it over on WhatsApp — you will get a straight answer, not a sales call.
Ask a questionHow quickly can you survey a site in Accra?
Usually within forty-eight hours of the enquiry. We are based at Brigade in Nungua, so anywhere in the city is a short drive. The survey is free, takes under an hour, and you get a drawing and a fixed written price two to three days afterwards.
Do I need permission to put up a carport in Accra?
For a carport inside your own compound, usually not. Where it becomes a question is if the structure crosses a boundary, sits over a public pavement, or is attached to a building in an estate with its own rules — gated developments and some landlords require sign-off. We will raise it at the survey if we think your job is one of those, but the permission is yours to obtain and we will not tell you it is unnecessary just to close a sale.
Can you build over an existing paved driveway?
Yes. Footings are cut into the paving, the frame is set and levelled, and the cut is made good afterwards. It costs a little more than working on bare ground because of the breaking out and the reinstatement, and we will show that as its own line on the quote rather than burying it.
Free site survey. Fixed written price.
Tell us roughly what you need and we will arrange a visit, usually within 48 hours. There is no charge for the survey or the quote, and no obligation afterwards.
