Metal works and structural steel fabrication
Everlasting is a steel fabricator first. Carports are what most people know us for, but the workshop that cuts, welds and galvanises those frames does structural steel for buildings too — roof trusses, mezzanine floors, columns and beams, and the roofing structures that carry sheeting.
Work starts the same way a carport does: someone comes out, measures what is actually there, and checks the ground and the existing structure rather than working from a drawing alone. If you already have engineer's drawings we fabricate to them. If you do not, we will tell you plainly that a load-bearing frame needs an engineer's design before we cut steel, and we will not guess at it.
Everything is fabricated in our workshop in Nungua and delivered to site ready to erect. That keeps the noise, the sparks and the mess off your site, and it means the welds are made under cover and inspected before anything is loaded onto a truck.

Ask a questionDo you fabricate from our engineer's drawings?
Yes, and for anything load-bearing that is how we prefer to work. Send us the drawings and the schedule and we will price the fabrication and the erection from them. Where there are no drawings for a structural element, we will say so and ask for an engineer's design rather than sizing a beam by eye — that is not a corner worth cutting on something holding a roof up.
Do you erect the steel as well as fabricate it?
Yes. The same crew that installs our carports erects the steelwork, so there is one company responsible from measurement to the last bolt. If your builder would rather erect it themselves, we can quote for supply and delivery only — just tell us at the survey so the connections are detailed for it.
What finish does the steel come in?
It depends on where it sits. Anything exposed to weather we hot-dip galvanise, the same as our carport frames, because paint on exposed steel in this climate is a maintenance job forever. Internal steel that will be boxed in or sits under a roof is usually supplied primed and painted, which costs less and lasts perfectly well out of the rain.
Do you do gates, railings and burglar bars?
That is not what this side of the business is for. Our metal works is structural — trusses, mezzanines, frames and roofing structures. Decorative and security metalwork is a different trade with different finishing, and you will get a better job from a specialist than from us.
