Polycarbonate carports in Ghana
A polycarbonate carport is the option to choose when the vehicle has to stay dry. UV-coated sheeting is fixed to a hot-dip galvanised steel frame with sealed, purpose-made fasteners, at a fall calculated for our rainfall rather than a generic pitch, so it sheds a downpour instead of pooling.
Unlike a metal roof it still passes diffused daylight, which keeps the space underneath usable and bright rather than turning it into a dark box. And unlike glass or acrylic it is impact resistant and will not shatter — which matters on a compound with children, or anywhere something might come off a tree in a storm.
It costs more than shade net, because there is more material and the frame carries more load. In exchange you get rain cover, a cleaner car underneath, and a sheet that should hold fifteen to twenty years with its UV coating intact.

There is audible drumming during a downpour — any solid sheet does this, and we would rather you hear it from us than discover it in the first storm. In practice it is rarely a problem over a driveway. It is worth thinking about if the carport sits directly outside a bedroom window.
Will the sheeting go yellow?
Not for a long time. The sheets are UV-coated on the weather face specifically to resist yellowing, and with that coating intact you should expect fifteen to twenty years. Cheap uncoated sheeting is what goes brittle and yellow within a few seasons, and it is not what we fit.
What colours and tints can I have?
Clear, opal and bronze. Clear passes the most light, opal diffuses it and cuts glare while staying bright, and bronze gives the deepest shade and a warmer light underneath. We will show you the options at the survey — the right one depends on which way the space faces and how much light you want reaching the house.
